We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! Beds are comfy, everything's updated and very clean. There's a fridge in the room and the decor is modern and cute. There's a free espresso/coffee machine, tea and a microwave in the lobby 24 hours, and free pastries in the morning from a local bakery. The girl who checked us in was very helpful and nice, offering to give us any info on all the touristy things there are to do. Pool area looks nice and is heated although we never used it. Parking is free and although there are only a few stalls, there is plenty of free street parking. This hotel is close to everything, Universal Studios is a 5 min drive, Warner Bros. Studios is within walking distance, and Hollywood/downtown Los Angeles is a short 10 minute drive. I like that the hotel is close enough to busy LA but far enough away that it's relaxing. On a quiet street next to a Mexican restaurant, Chipotle, and several other restaurants that looked good but we haven't tried. We look forward to staying here on our next trip, this hotel is fantastic.
In-room was decent and clean, ample free parking spaces available at hotel lobby else other lots are available at the back of the hotel building. Plenty of eateries were available within walking distance from hotel. Comfy bed, speedy free wifi, friendly front office staffs whom provides info like a local ambassador :)
Short driving distance to Universal Studio and other places of interest like Hollywood Walk of Fame
TIP: Check out the racks of brochures from hotel lobby, there is one map which comes intact with some form of coupon so it entitles you some form of discount into some town F&B outlets and attractions including Hard Rock merchandise shop!
Good choice!
I really liked this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, walking distance to a bunch of restaurants, with helpful and friendly staff. It had my essentials - a refrigerator and coffee maker and some extras - Porto's pastries and Crabtree and Evelyn soaps and shampoos... And all at a great price. I will definitely stay here again!
Stayed at this fabulous hotel for 3 nights and cannot fault it. From the moment we checked in, the service was excellent. We arrived approx 11am and check in isn't till 2pm but Kamal allowed us to check into our room immediately which was really nice of him seeing as we had just flown a 14 hr flight. The room is basic but practical and everything u need for a budget hotel. Bed is comfortable, free tea and coffee 24 hrs, room has a small bar fridge, free Wi-Fi in room (didn't run too slowly for our time we were on it) room cleaned daily with fresh sheets daily and Kelly at reception could not of gone out of her way to help us anymore with any questions regarding the area or printing of maps etc for us, plus making local phone calls and organising a taxi for us. Fantastic customer service! For little more than $100 a night, this place is a gem.
I would like to point out how helpful their staff was. They were more than eager to help w/ directions, restaurant suggestions, printing out maps, etc. Even the cleaning lady was very friendly. Tip of the hat to the staff and the management for being so focused on their customers.
Great place to stay for the money, and I would be happy to stay here again.
We traveled to LA for a family trip for 5 days. We had 3 kids 2 teenagers and a 22 month old. The hotel was great for us. The room was a little small but we weren't in it much so it didn't really affect us much. It was in a great location to get to all our spots. From Hollywood, Universal studios, LA Zoo and even Santa Monica. The pool was amazing after a long day of walking it was 89 degrees. My baby loved it :) My boys loved the hot chocolate in the am. They have a machine that has flavored coffee and hot chocolate and they went well with the pastries that they provided in the am. Oh yeah and they also have a filtered water in the lobby that really saved us on buying water while we were out there. We had brought our own water bottles so that was a great little treat. I would recommend this place for sure and when we return to the area we plan to stay again.
My wife and I were quite pleased with the three night stay at the Tangerine. We had a king room on the second floor. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The beds were really comfortable and the sheets felt like they were higher quality than most hotels. The pillows, however, seemed a bit lacking in comfort.
The location is fantastic for Warner Brothers Studios, as we were able to walk to both the tour center and Gate #3 for watching a filming all in less than 10 minutes. It is also a 10 minute drive to Universal Studios, and only about 15 minutes to DT Hollywood and surrounding areas.
The Tangerine is a great value in a great location.
Side note: the mexican place, Don Cuco's, immediately next door, is fantastic.
Only spent one night in this hotel. Very clean, staff is incredible- they are very very professional and people friendly...I asked for things to do in the surrounding area and the lady in the front desk spent more than 20 minutes with me making sure I got what I wanted!
Rooms are big, decoration is nice, location is good (close to Warner Bros Studios) and the internet works well! Great value for the $$$ as well! Everybody enjoyed their time there (Dad, mum and kid)
Stayed here for 3 nights with my two children in a second floor room
Pros:
Cons:
Would definitely stay here again
After finding that nearly every hotel available in this area requires a daily valet fee, I unexpectedly happened upon the Tangerine in a Trip Advisor review on the sidebar. Cute little place, all reviews were positive, so I decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed one bit. This little hotel is spotlessly clean. Every area is nicely kept and so clean. The staff was courteous and helpful; the pastries in the morning were tasty and fresh. Hot drinks are available in the lobby 24/7. The pool area was also sparkly clean. The beds were comfortable, the toiletries were great quality. Free wi-fi. The rooms were decorated nicely. And no valet parking! It was walking distance to the Warner Bros. studios; and the Mexican restaurant next door was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again anytime.
We stayed here for 1 night in early May as we were in town to catch the taping of the CONAN show. The hotel is less than 5 minute's drive from the Warner Brother's studios on Forest Lawn.
Both my boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed with this hotel in almost every aspect.
The check-in lady seemed genuinely nice and accomodated our request for a second floor room even though we booked only hours earlier. The parking's free in the front lot and the back lot. Make sure you get a sign from the front desk to hang on your dash.
The interior of our room was great. The decor was very modern and chic and the room felt very clean-not at all what we would ever expect from a motel-like hotel. Also in the room were a flat-screen TV with HD channels (a first), mini fridge, free wifi, and hairdryer. My favorite part was the Evelyn and Crabtree Toiletries. VERY nice touch.
Another standout plus was the hotel lobby amenities. They had a machine that made various espresso/latte/hot chocolate drinks 24-7. There was also a small TV lounge to park at in case you are waiting to check in. At 7am every morning, the lobby also serves complimentary pastries from a local bakery. These were NOT your Costco bakery items for sure. They were very tasty and seemed definitely of higher quality than the average mass-produced baked goods.
Before we left for the taping, we sat around the pool. The set up was pretty good considering its in the middle of Burbank. The pool was clean and there was quite a few loungers set up if you choose to tan instead.
Just in town for one night so it worked out great. Nice and quite and clean plus reasonable. Was an old style motel but they have done a pretty good job of freshening it up.
Room Tip: Pool was nice!
I read previous reviews and thought we'd give the Tangerine a try! We love it! The service is great the rooms clean and the morning pastries a real treat! Even parking was no problem. Good location, great value...you've got to stay here!
We stayed there 4 nights - 2 parties = 2 rooms. Both rooms very nicely updated and retro and clean! Good service. We enjoyed the small pool area - very comfortable spot to just relax and talk. Superb location - with easy access to just about everything. Good access to restaurants - recommend Don Cuco's mexican next door and Priscilla's Kitchen for light breakfast just 2 blocks away. We'll definitely stay there again!
Do note - there is not a common lobby...so all rooms open to outside. Hey - it's a 60's hotel that has been updated in a classy way. We did not feel unsafe at all!
Convenience, it is a short car ride from everywhere I needed to be as well as walking distance to a few television studios (it was cool to see the WB studios (the home of Yakko, Wakko and Dot on my drive over there)
Comfort, my room was large with a modern trendy design and had all of the amenities I needed including a variety of Crabtree and Evelyn products
Friendly service, the person who checked us in was extremely nice and very helpful
Delicious breakfast pastries, I normally avoid hotel pastries like the plague but these were very good! The front desk person told us they were baked fresh daily by Porto's Bakery.
Love this place!! First time here and I'm already excited to come back someday! The facility is newly remodeled. The rooms are all non smoking and beautiful! Stayed in a room with a king size bed. The room is equipped with a flatscreen tv and mordern furniture. Everything is bright and fresh and the beds super comfy. The staff when we checked in was wonderful and was able to direct me to a post office and the town center with extremely accurate directions. Also included is free wifi and a pretty pristine looking pool!
Stayed here for two nights recently and came away very impressed with how everything went. Some of the nicest hotel staff I've ever encountered and the boutique room was great. Clean, beautifully decorated and quiet. Parking was easy and free, the Wifi (also free) worked great and good food was in walking distance.
The Tangerine is a gem. For a decently safe location, clean, quiet rooms and all the free amenities available, this place is beyond worth it.
I just passed by it yesterday running errands and had to write a review of this spot. When I lived up in NoCal and came down to visit family and friends in LA but didn't want to intrude as a house guest, I would book stays here at Tangerine. Not only are the prices affordable for extended stays (which was a lot when until I finally moved back to LA), but the play is clean and accessible to many places beyond Burbank!
It's walking distance to many quick eateries to fancy spots such as Morton's steakhouse and McCormick's and Schmicks. Love love it!
I agree the wifi worked perfectly here in the rooms I stayed at, the TV was big and the beds were comfy.
I have recommended people who came into town and had the same reservations like me of not wanting to be a house guest that there is the Tangerine Hotel, and I haven't heard anything negative from them from their own experiences.
Keep up the good work Tangerine hotel!
Just simply awesome! If you ever go to Warner Bros, Universal Studios or just kicking it in the Hollywood scene and you're looking for somewhere clean, friendly, comfortable, affordable, cool, and just down right attractive...the Tangerine Hotel is the spot!
It's walking distance from some nice and varied eateries and the atmosphere was great. Lobby's open 24/7 and you can get a free latte at 3:00am to keep you wide awake.
